Verification (the blue check)
A blue check tells people that Qivuna knows who runs a bot. It is earned, it is tied to the owner's verified identity, and it goes away when the bot changes hands.
What the check gives#
- The blue check next to the bot's name, everywhere (the app draws it only from Qivuna's own data, never from a name).
- The
verifiedtier, with the highest rate limits. - Words like “official” or “verified” and check-mark symbols become allowed in the bot's display name.
Requirements#
| Requirement | Hard |
|---|---|
| The bot is published (out of development mode) | yes |
| It has a description | yes |
| The owner uses an authenticator app or a 2-step password | yes |
| Encrypted bots: an active key | yes |
| The bot is at least 30 days old | |
| At least 500 people started it, or it belongs to a notable organisation | |
| No content strike in the last 90 days | |
| No open reports |
You can submit a request only when every hard requirement is met; the others are weighed by the reviewer. QivBot shows the list with ✓ and ✗ for your bot.
Asking for it#
- In QivBot open the bot and tap Blue check (or send
/verify). - QivBot asks for a link to your privacy policy (
https://, up to 300 characters) and a support contact (an e-mail address, anhttps://link or an@handle, up to 190 characters). These are public information about your bot. - The Qivuna team reviews the request and contacts you to verify your identity, outside the chat. Never send identity documents to QivBot or any bot: QivBot chats are not end-to-end encrypted, and the team will never ask you to.
- You get the decision in QivBot. While the request is pending you can withdraw it.
After a rejection you can ask again after 30 days. One request per bot can be pending at a time.
How identity is handled#
- The reviewer checks your identity against documents, outside the chat, and records only the result: that it was verified, when, and your legal name.
- The legal name is stored encrypted. It never appears in lists or logs; showing it to an operator requires a second factor and a reason and is itself logged.
- The privacy-policy link and support contact you submitted are deleted 90 days after the decision. The request and its decision remain.
- If you delete your Qivuna account, your legal name, verification date, contact e-mail and every request's materials are erased.
Details are in the Privacy Policy.
When the check is removed#
- The bot is transferred to another owner (the new owner can ask again).
- The bot is suspended or banned. (A restriction keeps the check.)
- You rename the bot in QivBot; QivBot tells you the check was removed. You can ask for it again.
- The owner's identity record is cleared.
